My decision to move to Ibiza was driven by a desire for a happier and more fulfilling life for my family and myself. Before the challenges brought by Brexit, life in Europe felt a bit easier, especially given that a significant portion of the rules shaping the European landscape were crafted by Britain. I decided to pivot my busy corporate life in event management towards a more nature-centric and family-oriented existence.
During the pandemic, I seized the opportunity to retrain, immersing myself in interior design, a passion that had always lingered beneath the surface. It was during this time that I met Rolf, a creative visionary, and together, we embarked on the journey of building a unique Blakstad-style house. This house, now feature in Blakstads’ third book and this became a testament to our combined creativity and determination.

Certainly! I bring a wealth of experience from my professional background, where I have had the privilege of collaborating with famous and high-level individuals as well as luxury worldwide brands. My move to Ibiza led to the establishment of a business specializing in property rentals, events, and photoshoots.
How have negotiations and collaboration worked within the tight-knit community of Ibiza?
Negotiations and collaborations within the Ibiza community have been a wonderful experience. My husband and I have initiated positive projects like producing honey and engaging with local farmers to utilize underused land, aiming to build an international community and enhance integration.
What motivated you to choose Ibiza as the location for your business venture?
Ibiza had a special place my heart due to working here with music and other creatives throughout my career. It is an island of many sides and I loved the creative melting pot the island had to offer. We decided to move to Ibiza for its unique lifestyle and opportunities that resonated with us personally and professionally.
What were the major challenges you faced when setting up your business in Ibiza?
The major challenges we faced included our first property purchase, an old finca, which presented structural challenges and required extensive renovations. Language barriers and banking complexities were also hurdles, particularly post-Brexit.

It turned into what can only be described as “glamping” for several years, dealing with issues such as humidity, dampness, and complex water systems.
Language barriers added another layer of complexity, and post-Brexit, navigating the banking system became a challenge in itself. However, despite these hurdles, we persevered and sought guidance from those who understood the local landscape, ultimately finding success in our endeavours.

Ibiza’s status as the most expensive harbour in Europe attracted a diverse and affluent clientele, creating opportunities for our business. Additionally, the creative atmosphere on the island was a significant advantage. Ibiza’s allure lies in its unique blend of luxury and natural beauty. s. Moreover, the island’s creative atmosphere fosters an environment where ideas flourish and innovation thrive.

Working in a natural environment surrounded by greenery has been incredibly inspiring. It allowed me to create a harmonious balance between work and personal life, fostering creativity.
